DR. STACY SCHAEFFER

Dr. Stacy Schaeffer grew up in the northland and declared at a young age that she wanted to be a “bug vet”. Although we don’t see many of those as patients, she did succeed at half of that goal when she graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She has since dabbled in different areas of veterinary medicine including farm animal medicine and surgery, small animal medicine and surgery, research support, and teaching. Dr. Schaeffer worked with us in the summer of 2021, and rejoined our team as an associate veterinarian in summer of 2022. She is excited to be providing medical care to the pets in our community again while teaching at Maple Woods Veterinary Technology.

Dr. Schaeffer is busy at home raising a young daughter, and keeping up with her pets: a pointer mix (Oakley), two cats (Red, Three), and three Katahdin sheep (Bart, Pi, and Frankie) who are the remaining retirees on her farm. In her free time, she loves to spend as much time as possible outside (hiking, walking, or relaxing). She also enjoys knitting, crocheting, and spending time with friends.

Having a 13-year-old dog, Dr. Schaeffer understands the challenges that come as pets age, and is passionate about providing excellent medical care to geriatric patients. She enjoys connecting with each pet and their people to help however she can. Other areas of interest include dentistry and internal medicine, and she loves annual wellness appointments as well!
