"I took my German Shepherd, who was expressing alarming behavior, to this recommended veterinarian. Upon hearing Max's history and after a thorough examination, Dr. Hodgson believed a series of x-rays would be helpful. We said yes. The x-rays showed what he already thought would be hip degeneration. However, what proved vital part is Max has a pericardial effusion and serious fluid build-up in the sac surrounding his heart. Dr. Hodgson recommended to go quickly to the University of Missouri or an acknowledged emergency vet here to prevent the real possibility of leakage into the peritoneal cavity and deadly sepsis. On a busy Saturday, his excellent staff took the time to call the opted emergency office in town, send all relevant records, and give a heads-up Max was coming. I am immensely grateful for the compassion and professalism shown by Antioch Hospital. We will be back with all our pets, not just Max."
